Our Boiled Wool fabric is a beautiful quality and a purely natural product. It is is great for warm Autumn/Winter clothing and also for layering.
It is a medium weight wool knit, has a boucle texture, a lovely soft drape and a slight stretch to it.
The fabric is easy to cut and sew, making it a great choice for warm autumn and winter dressmaking.
The cut edges of this fabric do not fray and therefore hemming and lining Boiled Wool garments is optional.
This durable natural fabric is perfect for warm jackets, coats, dresses, tunics, skirts, accessories and soft furnishings
We stock different weights of Boiled Wool and wool/ viscose blends to suit different sewing projects with a large range of colours available

Sewing with Boiled Wool Fabric
Before cutting out Boiled Wool set your steam iron to a medium heat and hover all over the fabric with steam.
Then lay the fabric flat and allow to cool. This will help avoid shrinkage while sewing and pressing it later. Press carefully on a low temperature iron setting with steam from the wrong side.
