What is Boiled Wool?
Boiled Wool is a knit fabric with a boucle texture and is usually of medium weight. Water and agitation are used during manufacturing to shrink the fibres into a tight felt-like mass. It drapes nicely and has a slight stretch to it.
What can I sew with Boiled Wool?
This fabric makes great warm autumn/winter garments, such as dresses, skirts and tunics. It is also fabulous for making blazers, jackets and coats. You can also use it for soft furnishings. You will find it easy to cut and sew, and the cut edges do not fray, meaning hemming and lining is optional.
