Our luxurious new Stretch Velveteen is perfect for your winter wardrobe!
We have six rich colours in our new collection of stretch velveteen. It is medium weight, 135cm wide and designed for dressmaking, it is 96% cotton and has a 4% spandex content, the spandex gives the fabric stretch to make the garments very comfortable to wear. The small amount of spandex makes the fabric very versatile and suitable for many different garment types. Velveteen has great drape qualities and are easily worn in comparison to a velvet which is too firm for dressmaking. The velveteen has a short sloping pile, very tightly set, which is what gives the cloth a slight sheen. The luxurious texture and deep colours are ideal for your autumn and winter wardrobe.
This fabric is easy to care for, we recommend washing on a 30 degree cycle. Gently iron on the wrong side of the fabric, on a medium heat; being careful not to press too hard and crush the pile.
Here are our Sewing Patterns suggestions for Velveteen:Sew Over It – Ultimate Trousers
These trousers would look fantastic in any colour with a plain top and heels.
The Francoise dress would suit the velveteen, perfect for everyday wear.
Make a statement and use the wine colour with gold buttons like these.
The moss skirt would look great in any colour, I think I would try the teal colour!
